Intended learning outcomes

The purpose of the UC is to raise students' awareness of the relevance and added value that come from experimental activity in situ, namely from structural monitoring and the performance of different types of tests. The quantities whose measurement allows the characterization of the static or dynamic behaviour of a structural one will be mentioned, as well as the methods and equipment available for that purpose. Once the subject is approved, the student is expected to acquire the following skills:

  1. Understand the fundamental concepts associated with structural and durability monitoring.
  2. Knowledge of several methods and equipment for measuring the most relevant quantities.
  3. Ability to define a monitoring plan or a load test plan for a work according to your specific circumstances.
  4. Perception of the need to combine structural modeling with field measurements. O5) knowledge of the most relevant testing techniques.
